One of the key features of this website, from its origin in 1999 to present, are these chronologies of Carlos Castaneda and the women who were with him for the last decades of his life. These are the real life people he wove into his stories and mythology of his supposed shamanic sorcery teacher, don Juan, and his party. In contrast to Castaneda’s multiple fictions, these chronologies represent an ordering of the factual, actual events of each individual’s life as discernable from public records, interviews with people who knew them at various times of their life, as well as critical analyses of the books they wrote and statements they made in interviews, at workshops and even private sessions that I attended with Castaneda and these women from 1995 to 1998, when Castaneda died and three of the women disappeared.

These chronologies conclusively established that the stories Castaneda and these women told about their supposed experiences as apprentices of don Juan and his party were completely fictional. These chronologies have been revised and updated in 2024 based on material that has become available since they were first published here in 1999. (The Taisha Abelar chronology was the only one I withheld from publishing in 1999 at the request of her family members. It was first published here on what would have been her 79th birthday–August 25, 2024.)
